Kenneth Leo "Kenny" Knappier, 50, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:05 A.M. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Kenny was born on Wednesday, May 18, 1960 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of the late Leo George and Carolyn (Patty) Knappier. Surviving family members include his sister: Patty Louise Knappier of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents and two brothers: Melvin Eugene and Billy Joe Knappier preceded him in death. Kenny was a packer and stocker in the meat department at the Mt. Vernon Wal-Mart and was of the Christian faith. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 29, 2011 in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Mr. Curtis Smith will officiate. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. VISITATION: There will be no visitation held.
