CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Eva Marie Sexton, 73, of Clarksville, Tenn., and formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville, Tenn. She was born in Wisconsin on Tuesday, May 11, 1937, to Fred and Esther (Hanaman) Markley. She married Jerry Dwaine Sexton on Nov. 20, 1956, in Junction City, Kan., and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2010. Eva was a homemaker, worked in housekeeping at a motel and was a nursing home custodian. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. David Sheets officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to service time at the church. Mrs. Sexton is survived by two sons, Tom Sexton and wife Cheri of Clarksville, Tenn., and Tony Sexton of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Connie Smith and husband Dwayne of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Skip Rickert; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.
