Wanda Helen Gross, age 94, of Chatham, IL and a former resident of Wayne City, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday April 13, 2011 at the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. Wanda was born on February 4, 1917 in Keenes, IL, the daughter of Charles and Nettie (Gregory) Webber. She married Felix Gross on May 6, 1939 in Shawneetown, Kentucky He preceded her in death on January 29, 1997. She was a long-standing member of the First United Methodist Church in Wayne City. She was preceded in death by her husband Felix Gross, daughter Sue (Young) Marsh, and grandson Jeffrey Young. She was also preceded in death by her six brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Terry) Lawson of Chatham, IL and Judy (Roy) Lucas of Buckeye, AZ; two grandsons; three granddaughters; two great grandsons; and four great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Wayne City First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert W. Deuel and Rev. Dan J. Frisby officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday at the Church from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will follow at the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
