MT. VERNON - Beverly Patterson, 46, of Texico, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born Wednesday, April 28, 1965, in Havana, to Walter William Cowden Sr., and Rona (Jones) Cowden. She married Charles Patterson. Beverly was a service station cashier, a factory worker and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Eagles Aerie Lodge #2791. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Patterson will be cremated following the visitation and there will be no funeral service. She is survived by her mother, Rona Lowry and husband Robert of Texico; two sons, Daniel Turner of Virginia and Charles Patterson, Jr., of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Nicky Reid of Virginia and Tish Turner and Robert Peelman of Aurora, Ind.; four brothers, Archie Jones and special friend Stephanie Leffler of Brunswick, Ga., Walter W. Cowden, Jr., and special friend Amy Jenks of Brunswick, Ga., David Cowden and wife Dolly of Virginia and Michael Cowden of Texico; three sisters, Mary Bartlett and husband Darrell of Florida, Karen Hardig and husband Larry of Texico and Robin Shelton and husband Kevin of Opdyke; four grandchildren, Kylie Sweet, Sky, David and Haley; a close friend, Diana Boggs of Aurora, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
