    3. Shirley Jean Gregory, 75, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:34 P.M. on Wedensday, March 16, 2011 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mrs. Gregory was born on Sunday, March 31, 1935 in Jefferson County, Illinois the daughter of the late Burl "Bill" and Pearl (parsons) Artis. She married Carroll Glenn Gregory on March 29, 1953 at Summersville Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Surviving family members include her husband: Carroll Glenn Gregory of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 3 sons: Larry C. Gregory and wife Donna of Beijing, China, Eddie L. Gregory and wife Nancy of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Daniel W. Gregory and wife Tacha of Deer Creek, Illinois; 10 grandchildren: Corey Gregory and wife Kim of Westerville, Ohio, Kathy Cupit and husband Jeff of Kansas City, Missouri, Jill Uhlman and husband Chris of Morton, Illinois, Courtney Cannes and husband Michael of St. Louis, Missouri, Alyson Gregory and fiance Seth Deletetsky of Saco, Maine, Hannah Gregory and Benjamin Gregory of Deer Creek, Illinois, Mica Lunsford of Pekin, Illinois, Bryan Bubulka of Carbondale, Illinois and Brad Bubulka of New Lenox, Illinois; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, two sisters: Minnie Patterson and Virginia Artis and one great granddaughter: Sophie Cupit preceded her in death. Mrs. Gregory was a homemaker and enjoyed her flower and herg garden. She served as a Cub Scout den mother and was active in the Home Extension, Webber Ladies Club and was a founding member of Herbs for Health and Fun Herb Club. She was a member of Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon for 55 years, was an active member of the Woman's Missionary Union and worked in vacation Bible school VISITATION: will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 from 5 to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Gary Davenport will officiate. INTERMENT: Garrison Temple Cemetery in Wayne County, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
