Loraine Virginia Williams, 89, of Byron and formerly of Bluford, died Monday, March 7, 2011, in Prairieview of Winnebago. She was born April 23, 1921, in Black River Falls, Wisc., the daughter of Henry & Virginia Phillips Taylor. She graduated from Black River Falls High School. She married Edward J. Williams in Beloit, Wisc. on July 12, 1942, and he died in 1994. Loraine was a bookkeeper for Mt. Vernon Farm Services for 25 years. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Jim) Swanson of Stillman Valley; grandchildren, Eric (Jill) Swanson and Adam (Melissa) Swanson both of Byron, & Kathryn (Lt. Brent) Schmadeke of Traverse City, Mich.; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Williams of Mt. Vernon; a brother-in-law, Bill (Arlene) Williams of Spartanburg, N.C.; and nephews, Brian Meek of Black River Falls, Wisc. & Ron Williams of Woodlawn. She was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and nieces, Nancy Meek and Joy Williams. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.
