FULL OBIT OF DELLA L (ING) THOMAS Della L. Thomas, 100, of Waterman, IL, formerly of Buckner, died at 11:12 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Shabbona Healthcare Center, Shabbona, IL. Mrs. Thomas was born on September 19, 1910 in Akin, IL the daughter of Matthew Ing and Elizabeth Jane "Ollie" (Jones) Ing. She married William Thomas on June 28, 1934 in East Alton, IL. Della spent most of her married life as a homemaker, cooking, baking and tending her flowers. She worked a short time in a restaurant in Midlothian, IL and also part-time at Largent's Nursing Home in Midlothian, IL. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed Bible study. Surviving relatives include three children, Arnold Thomas, Peoria, IL, Donald Thomas, Waterman, IL, Brenda Meents, Frankfort, IL, seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Roy Ing, Manteno, IL and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Dara Lynn, four sisters, Lolette Bolen, Julia Watson, Stella Waller and Frances Statler, and four brothers, Charles, Elmer, Wilford, and Harvey (Troy) Ing. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, IL. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Della's great-grandson, Paul Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Brady Cemetery, Akin, IL.
