Marion - Scott "Scotty" Dean Riley, 18, of Marion, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church in West Frankfort at 1902 E. Oak Street, with Pastor Brett Beasley officiating. Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 27, 2011 after 4:00 p.m., at the church in West Frankfort. Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the D.A.V., Chapter 71, sent in c/o Dayton Franklin, 905 S. 12th Street, Herrin, IL 62948. Envelopes will be available at the church. Scotty was born on October 1, 1992 in Carbondale to Ralph Dean and Sherri Lee (Stanley) Riley. He is survived by his parents, Ralph and Sherri Riley of Marion; sister, Sarah Marie Riley of Marion; paternal grandparents, Ronald D. and Maggie Riley of Pittsburg; maternal grandmother, Kathy Stanley of Marion; uncles and aunts, Ronald and Beth Riley of Woodlawn, Debby Robertson and her significant other, Chuck Tervin of Berkley, Calif., Benny Stanley of Marion, and Stephen and Tammy Stanley of Suisun, Calif.; several cousins and many close friends. Scotty was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Benny Stanley and great uncle, Donald R. Riley. He attended Marion and Crab Orchard schools. Scotty worked at the McDonald's in Marion. He enjoyed hunting, listening to music and getting into shenanigans with his friends. Most of all, Scotty loved his family.
