    3. Neva Lorene Davis, 84, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:03 P.M. on Monday, February 28, 2011 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Neva was born on Friday, February 25, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Walter Columbus and Ethel (Tolley) Finn. She married William T. "Bill" Davis on April 23, 1953 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on November 29, 2004. Surviving family members include her son: David William Davis and wife Phyllis of Thompsonville, Illinois; 2 daughters: Reva Maurer and husband Steve of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Sheri Roberts and husband Gary of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 11 grandchildren: Beth Lind and husband Jeff of O'Fallon, Illinois, Ryan Maurer and wife Kim of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Troy Maurer and wife Sarah of Edwardsville, Illinois, Nathan Maurer of O'Fallon, Illinois and fiancee Audrey Gillespie of Bloomington, Illinois, Heather Hayes and husband Chuck of Waltonville, Illinois, Rebecca Scott and husband Nathan of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Joseph Davis and wife Emily of Marlow, Illinois, Chad Irwin and fiancee Ouinn Perigo of Newnan, Georgia, Carissa Tepovich and husband Geoff of Collinsville, Illinois, Travis Irwin and wife Tiffany of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Scott Holman of Sesser, Illinois; 11 great grandchildren: Savana and Tyler Hanson, Jacob Sandy, Wyatt Scott, Vincent Holman, Cody, Baylor and Hudysn Scott, Alaina and Cale Maurer and Sophia Lind; sister: Jewell Bennett of East Alton, Illinois; brother: Paul Finn of DeKalb, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, two sisters: Rena Birkhead and Virginia Orrick, one infant sister: Reva Finn and one infant brother: Walter Eugene Finn preceded her in death. Neva worked at the Garment Factory, then the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory, later for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Company and most recently for the Register News. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and loved to play golf and watching the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Pastor Josepha Lecke will officiate. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
