Diana Kay Burke, 70, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 12:11 A.M. on March 26, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Burke was born on September 25, 1940 in Elgin, Illinois the daughter of the late Estell "Bud" Schrieber and Zella Lucille (Decker) Schrieber. She married Bill Burke in Elgin, Illinois on January 9, 1965 and sealed in marriage at the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Temple in St. Louis, Missouri. Surviving family members include her husband: Bill Burke of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; son: John Allen Burke and wife Lisa of Carpentersville, Illinois; daughter: Kelly S. Burke of Fort Meyers, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Madeline, Brian and Abigail Burke all of Carpentersville, Illinois, Collin Jones and Kaylee Jones both of Fort Meyers, Florida; brother: Donald Schrieber and wife Judy of Carpentersville, Illinois; brother-in-law: Thurlow Branscum of St. Charles, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, brother: Delbert Schrieber and sister: Donna Branscum preceded her in death Diana graduated from Elgin High School and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Bishop Keith Wilcox will officiate. INTERMENT: Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.
