Rhonda Kay (French) LaRoche, 49, died unexpectedly in her Carpentersville home on Feb. 27. She was born on June 12 in Aurora. She is survived by a daughter, Sydney Anne LaRoche, of Chicago; her mother, Alice French, of Belvidere; two sisters, Linda French of Belvidere and Christine Cully of Honesdale, Pa.; a nephew, Matthew Clark; and a niece, Allison Clark, both of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell R. French, in 1999. Rhonda graduated East Aurora High School in 1979. In her youth, she played flute and piano, laying a foundation for a lifelong love of music. She enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry, and for the last eight years, she was employed as an account manager by Assurance Agency in Schaumburg. She considered her colleagues to be her friends. She was an excellent cook and a prolific baker of Christmas cookies. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her daughter, who shared Rhonda's unique sense of humor. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, at Laird Funeral Home in West Dundee, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Assurance Agency has established a trust fund for her daughter.
