ALTA MAE DUSHARME, 91, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:10 A.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on Monday, July 14, 1919 in Benton, Illinois, a daughter to the late John Arvel & Susie Ann (Fletcher) Scrutchfield. She was first married to Howard L. Sursa in 1937. She later married Welldon "Dud" Dusharme in 1957 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and he preceded her in death in 1999. Along with her parents and husband, one daughter: Frieda Louise Sursa Loper, two brothers: Harry and Clifford Scrutchfield, two sisters: Liza Scrutchfield and Christine (Scrutchfield) Piercefield and special brother-in-law: Andy Pace preceded her in death. Her Surviving Family Members include two Daughters: Evelyn Arvella (Sursa) Boswell and husband Pete of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Ann (Dusharme) Kehrer and husband Norman of Woodlawn, Illinois; five Grandchildren: Glen Dutcher and wife P.J. of New Hampshire, Richard Dutcher and wife Gwen of Mapleton, Utah, William Marks and wife Tamara of San Diego, California, Dan Kehrer and Steven Kehrer and wife Sherry all of Woodlawn, Illinois; Special Sister-In-Law: Norma Pace of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Sixteen Great Grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of special Nieces and Nephews also Survive. Alta Mae worked for Pressed Steel Car Manufacturing for six years and later was an Licensed Practical Nurse at a TB Sanitarium for 22 years. The Dusharme Family will Greet Friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Gospel Assembly Church, 724 East Davie Street, in Anna, Illinois, with: Reverend Galen Holden officiating. Inurnment of Cremated Remains will be at Sursa Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.
