MT. VERNON - Ladean Lin Rose, 84, of Bonnie and formerly of Texico, passed away at 10:13 a.m. March 25, 2011, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was born May 18, 1926, in Mt. Vernon, to Linzy Clark and Zelma (Hutchison) Clark. She married Henry Earl Rose on Oct. 22, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 2001. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be held 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Ladean is survived by two daughters, Rogene Fitts and husband David of Mt. Vernon and Lorena Richard and husband Wayne of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Angie Owens and husband John of Mt. Vernon, Greg Fitts and wife Joy of Mt. Vernon, Brianna Richard of Chicago, Nathan Rose of House Springs, Mo., Sarah Richard of Mt. Vernon and Jared Richard of Mt. Vernon; five great-grandchildren, Joshua Owens of Belleville, Mallory Owens of Mt. Vernon, Christian Fitts of Mt. Vernon, Hayden Dubach of Mt. Vernon and Weston Rose of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Harl Clark and wife Audria of Fort Collins, Colo., Gerald Clark of Cairo and Stanley Clark and wife Lenore of Woodlawn; four sisters, Betty Cotner of Logansport, Ind., Alletta French and husband Harold of Bluford, Amylee Howard and husband Carl of Mt. Vernon and Judy Schneider and husband Albert of Salem, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Jolene Nixon and husband Harold of Mt. Vernon, Betty Jo Clark of Mt. Vernon and Judy Clark of Channahon; and many nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, son, James Earl Rose; two brothers, Richard and Eddie Clark; and sister, Wyva Bullard preceded her in death. Ladean was a homemaker and worked at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory. She was an avid reader, loved her Sunday gatherings and was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
