Rick Lee Matherlee, 61, of Kell, died at 7:29 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of William E. and Florence E. (Dearth) Matherlee. On July 10, 1985, in Columbus, Ohio he married Julie Hart and she survives in Kell. He graduated from Xenia High School in Xenia, Ohio. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Florence Matherlee of Kell; three sons, Jamey Matherlee and wife Tammy of Indianapolis, Ind., David Lashbrook and wife Stacie of Centralia and Danny Matherlee of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Angie Matherlee and Amy Matherlee, both of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Lashbrook, Katie Lashbrook, Brandon Matherlee and Megan Matherlee; and a sister, Tonia Shepherd of Ohio. Mr. Matherlee was preceded in death by his father, William Matherlee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix.
