Jenny Palmer and Samuel Ryan Orrick are pleased to announce their engagement. Jenny Palmer, a Carterville resident, is the daughter of Steve and Linda Palmer of Carterville. She is a 2002 graduate of Carterville High School and a 2006 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences. She is employed by Addus Healthcare. Ryan Orrick of Carbondale is the son of Ann and the late Sammy Orrick of Mt. Vernon. He is a 2001 graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School and a 2005 graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in animal science. He will graduate in May 2011 with a master's degree in animal sciences from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is employed by Southern Illinois University. Jenny and Ryan will be married on April 9, 2011, at 4:30 p.m., at Carterville First United Methodist Church.
