DIX - James C. "Jim" McBrian, 53, of Dix, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at his home in Dix. He was born Oct. 10, 1957, in Mt. Vernon, to Ralph and Iris Jean (Hanley) McBrian. He married Mandy Winters on Oct. 4, 1980, in England. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 1, at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon with Randy Sells officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation wil be from 5 to 7 pm. Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. "Jim" is survived by his wife, Mandy McBrian of Dix; a son, Steven McBrian and wife Nikki of Centralia; two daughters, Carolyn McBrian and special friend Uriah Easley of Eldorado and Lesa Bird of Dix; five grandchildren, Katrina and Lindsey McBrian of Dix, Haley and Olivia Easley of Eldorado and Ryder McBrian of Centralia; a brother, Ralph T. McBrian and wife Laurie of Tallmadge, Ohio; two sisters, Gail I. Ashman and husband Robin Ramsey of St. Mary's, England and Debbie A. Cross and husband Alex of Haddenham, England; and several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents and one brother, Andy McBrian, preceded him in death. Jim was a self-employed truck driver. Memorials may be given to the Children's Hospital at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
