Stephen Eugene Morgan, age 61, of West Frankfort, Illinois passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at 6:25 a.m. at his residence. Stephen was born October 5, 1949 in Herrin, IL to parents Fred and Ruth (Buchanan) Morgan. He was a US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was of Baptist faith. He is survived by sons, Tom Morgan and Joe (Carrie Young) Woolsey; daughter, Kristy and Floyd Jones; sisters, Shirley Rice, Patsy (Dale) Mason, Donna (Bill) Green, Nancy Morgan, Mary Morgan, Bonnie Smith, Becky Cepolski, and Kelly Straver; brothers, Jim Morgan and Kevin Morgan and fiance Janis Young; grandchildren, Ashley Stark, Alyssa Stark, Trena Jones, Jacob Woolsey, Landon Woolsey, Dylan Duke; several nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry and Jerry Morgan; sisters, Helen Morgan, Virginia Morgan, and Kathy Taylor. Graveside services with be held at Hope Cemetery in Whittington, IL on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to leaving for the cemetery. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery in Whittington, IL. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 1961 of Orient, Zeigler Post 177, VFW Post 5764 of West Frankfort, and Marion National Honor Guard.
