Fern Savage, 93, McLeansboro, passed away 9:25 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at McLeansboro Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in McLeansboro. She was born July 30, 1917, in Blairsville, a daughter of Lealva Steward and Nettie Elmira (Bowen) Savage. She is survived by a sister, Faye Poore of McLeansboro; and her caregiver, Lovella Craddock of McLeansboro. She was preceded in death by her parents. Fern attended the Methodist Church of Enfield. She loved to quilt and make rugs. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jim Peak officiating. Burial will be at Newhope Enst (Old Springer) Cemetery, Blairsville. No flowers requested; memorials are requested to be made the the "All-School Reunion" and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home, which is in charge of all arrangements.
