Mary Louella Fred, age 88, of Scheller, died 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at Mt Vernon Countryside Manor. Mary was born January 30, 1923, in Waltonville, IL, the daughter of Gary and Golden (Dalby) Fred. She was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Scheller, IL. She is survived by several extended cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant sister Hilda. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday June 24, 2011 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Reverend Randy Kash officiating. Interment will follow at Abner Cemetery in Nason, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Abner Cemetery, Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church or the VNA Tip Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
