Stephanie Marie Ratajczyk, 23, of Scheller, passed away at 2:40 a.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011, from an auto accident at O'Fallon. She was a member of the St. Barbara Catholic Church in Scheller. She was born Aug. 5, 1987, at Carbondale, the daughter of Gregory D. and Cathy L. (Knapp) Ratajczyk. She is survived by her father, Gregory Ratajczyk and Anna Vancil of Scheller; a brother, Jeremy Ratajczyk of Scheller; a niece, Maressa Ratajczyk and a nephew, Adrian Ratajczyk, both of Christopher; her maternal grandmother, Eugenia Knapp of Tamaroa; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother; her maternal grandfather, Lawrence Knapp; and her paternal grandparents, Edward and Theresa Ratajczyk. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Barbara Catholic Church in Scheller with Father Jean-Marie Mondji officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Barbara Cemetery at Scheller. Friends may make memorials to the St. Barbara Church or Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
