GEORGIA M. HANEY, 95, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:45 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Mount Vernon Countryside Residential Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois where she resided. She was born on Tuesday, October 26, 1915 in Hamilton County, Illinois, one of two daughters to the late Edward & Agnes (Tackwell) Mitchell. She married Robert R. Haney on August 23, 1942 in Ozark, Alabama and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1986. Her sister, Ruby Mitchell also preceded her in death. Several Nieces and Nephews survive. Georgia was a sales clerk at Douglas Drugs, Murphyâ?Ts 5 & 10 and Walgreenâ?Ts Drug Store before retiring and was of the Protestant Faith. There will be no Visitation GRAVESIDE SERVICE AND BURIAL will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke, Illinois, with Mr. Mike Sheets officiating.
