At this point I'm not sure what to ask for or where to go with this. I am in Denver, CO and all I had to go on was my great grandfather's obituary and luckily, I was able to get a copy of his mother's death certificate. Other than that I am left to "wing it" on the internet and was very fortunate to locate census data from 1850 through 1920. I guess the next step is to try to get back to southern Illinois sometime and search for obituaries. I have not started to compile family group data sheets yet.
