Joyce Darlene "Smokey" Kash, 72, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 3:40 P.M. at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis with family at her bedside. Darlene was born the daughter of Clarence "Jack" Reynolds and Jessie Tucker (Reynolds) Birkhead in rural Belle Rive, IL on March 31, 1938. She was the farmwife of Bobby D. Kash, who survives. They were married on December 16, 1955. They initially lived in Chicago Heights, IL. Later they lived in Fayetteville, NC while Bobby was stationed at Fort Bragg serving in the United States Army. They eventually moved back to southern Illinois in 1966 to start farming and raise three children. Darlene is survived by her husband, mother, children, Michael (Tricia) Kash and Tara (Ryan) Willis; grandchildren, Lynn Kash, Matthew (Kira) Kash, Amy Kash, Shane Kash, Jarrod Kash, Lauryn Willis, Luke Willis, Gabe Willis, Kyle (Tiffany) Kluck, and Kole Kluck; three great grandchildren; brother, Ron (Janie) Reynolds; brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd (Noma Lee) Kash, Virgil, "Junior" (Naomi) Kash, Phyllis Kash, Wayne (Brenda) Kash, Jackie (Audrey) Kash, Bill Pierce, Kenneth (Helen) Kash, Glenda (Jimmy) Downen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; son, Robert Dale Kash; grandchildren, Shirley and Seth Kash; in-laws, Virgil and Sula Kash; sisters-in-law, Norma Kash, Beatrice Kash and JoAnn Pierce; brother-in-law, Billy Kash; nephews, Danny Kash, and Jon Reynolds and great-nephew Benjamin Kash. Darlene was a helpmate to Bobby on the farm and avid gardener. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a long time member of Antioch Baptist Church in Bonnie, IL. There will be no services for Darlene, per her request. For those who wish in Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Kirk Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to the funeral home at 2707 North St., Mt.
