MT. VERNON - A reception is being held on Jan. 30, 2011, from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Hall in Dahlgren for James W. and Mary M. (Parkhill) Cross to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Jan. 31, 1951, in Mt. Vernon by the late W. O. Page, justice of the peace. They have seven children, Viola with Rusty, Betty with Mike, Pauline with Janice, Mary Jo with Keith, Bud with Ellen, J.D. with Jeannie and Ray, who passed away Feb. 14, 1993. James and Mary have 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. All family and friends are invited, but cards or letters would be appreciated if you are unable to attend.
