Lorene A. Prasuhn, 88, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:35 A.M. on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Lorene was born on Tuesday, September 5, 1922 in New Minden, Illinois the daughter of the late August and Bertha (Nieman) Collmeyer. She married Edwin Charles Prasuhn on July 19, 1942 in New Minden, Illinois and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1989. Surviving family members include her daughter: Karen Wood and husband Donald A. of Bonnie, Illinois; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Wood of Bonnie, Illinois, Jason Wood and wife Mandy of Waltonville, Illinois and Christine Kindlesparger and husband Daivd of Bonnie, Illinois; 3 great grandchildren: Brittany Copple, Dakotah Wood and Alexis Wood all of Waltonville, Illinois; cousin: Walter Nieman of Nashville, Illinois; nephew: Wayne Collmeyer of Waterloo, Illinois; niece: Helen Bisaga of Murphysboro, Illinois. Her parents, husband, one brother: Melvin Collmeyer and one sister: Florence Collmeyer preceded her in death. Lorene worked as a clerk at Kroger in Nashville, Illinois and later sold Avon products. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Gray Ladies of Mt. Vernon Tuberculosis Hospital, the Meals on Wheels Program, was an avid Bridge player and member of several Bridge Clubs, the Young at Heart Unit of Jefferson County Home & Community Education Association, was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon and was a member of the Ladies of Faith at the church. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Pastor Josepha Lecke will officiate. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
