Mae Maurine Wright, age 86, of Scheller, IL., passed away 1:50 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at her home in Scheller, IL. Mae was born August 9, 1924 in Scheller, IL., the daughter of Benjamin Blaine and Minnie Bell (Fleming) Laur. She first married William "Pete" Dixon and he was killed during WWII. She then married Joseph Kelley Wright on June 3, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2003. Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and attended the United Methodist Church of Waltonville. Mae is survived by three sons, Jerry Wright and special friend Mary Rose of Mt. Vernon, Randy Wright and wife Hilda of Mt. Vernon and Danny Wright and wife Cheryl of DuQuoin, IL.; two daughters, Elaine Wright and special friend Butch Withrow of Benton, IL. and Diane and husband Frank Essary of Sesser; 11 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Timothy, Joseph, Elizabeth, Julie, Maranda, Angela, Rosanna, Caleb, and Stacy; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husbands; brothers, Cecil Woods, Harold Laur, and Ben Laur; sisters, Alma Pitman-Laur and Bertha Hoffman; and her best friend Dorothy Laur Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday January 22, 2011 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville with Rev. R. Thomas Miller officiating. The Family will receive friends on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, IL. Burial will follow at Bald Hill Cemetery in Scheller, IL.
