    3. Pennellopie "Penny" J. Brasher, 68, of Mt. Vernon, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Nature Trail Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon. She was born Thursday, Jan. 21, 1943, in Philip, Texas, the daughter of Kenneth L. and Daphne (Harris) Schooler. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Christian Fellowship Church in Mt. Vernon with Scott Mattingly officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m until service time at the church. Pennellopie is survived by two sons, Jimmy F. Brasher Jr. and wife Eileen of Canyon, Texas and Clay Maxwell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Dana D. Mattingly and husband Scott of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Aaron and Emily Brasher of Canyon, Texas, Zoe and Abby Mattingly of Mt. Vernon and Jacob and Christina Maxwell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Rickey Lynn Schooler of Sweeney, Texas; and four sisters, Gena WIllis and husband Tom of Sun Prairie, Wis., Angela McGovern and husband Roger of Mt. Vernon Debra Schooler of Houston, Texas and Gay Schooler. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ed Brawley; and a brother, Buddy. Pennellopie worked at Executive Air Charter and at Mayflower Transfer and Storage as a secretary and was an owner and operator of a daycare for three years. She was a great nanny. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Girl Scouts of America or donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
