Lonnie It appears the marriage of Sarah Frances Parrish to Charles E. Sandy, Charles Fuqua is not the only one whom is elusive. His children, siblings, and parents are also. I've found Charles only in the 1850 Stewart co.,Tn and 1870 JCI census. He is the son of John & Permelia Ross Fuqua. Them only in the 1840/1850 census. Of the five children of Charles only Della Fuqua Bryant Sweetin Sheridan have I found known grandchildren of Charles, unless you want to consider Maude Crider as a dau of Cora Fuqua Crider. :) Charles's brother Harvey Milton Fuqua md Martha Springer 1874HCI lived and died there in 1912. His son John M Fuqua owned the store in JCI. Zenobia Bumpus d/o Dallas & Bertha Campbell Bumpus mentions the Fuqua store and him raising his Tittle niece after the fire, In her old audio cassette version of the family history (full of starting and stopping clicks ). Bob & All Behind as usual :-) Bob wrote "The Jefferson county sight for cemeteries has Rado buried at Oakwook cemetery, and there is no photo of a stone for her. The site only lists a death date of November 11, 1949" All names followed by **** in comments are from Oakwood Cemetery Records. Dates from their records may be burial dates and not actual death dates I added the names from their records when I didn't find a stone or missed one to try and record everyone known to be buried there. So in her Funeral notice on Wednesday, November 9, 1949 which reads that Funeral services for Mrs. Rado Crider of 1204 S. 16th street will be held Friday would indicate that the burial date would have indeed been on Nov. 11, 1949. I'm totally confused about this guy, Charles Fuqua/Fugua. He obviously spent some time around Jefferson County as he married and divorced in the county. First we have a marriage in 1865 to Nancy S. Bigham FUGUA, CHARLES E BIGHAM, NANCY S 1865-03-15 003 JEFFERSON Carol Bigham submitted this info about the family: NANCY LEAN BIGHAM and CHARLES E FUGUA had the following family: CORA3 FUGUA was born in Jefferson Co IL 1866. DAVID FUGUA was born in Jefferson Co IL 1868. MARY FUGUA was born in Jefferson Co IL 1869. 1880 Census Jefferson Co IL, Mary is living with her Aunt Martha Catharine & Ransom Moore. Next we have this marriage to Sarah Frances Parrish FUQUA, CHARLES PARRISH, SARAH 1878-09-07 006 0033 0150 JEFFERSON And we see a divorce for him the same month but I cannot find any marriage to someone named Hester, Fuqua, Charley vs. Hester Fuqua Sep 1878 Fuqua, Charley vs. Hester Fuqua Feb 1877 I cannot find a single census record for him anywhere around JCI, FCI, HCI or WCI. I've tried various spellings for his last name but no luck. There is a photo of a grocery store ran by John M. Fuqua on the JCI website: http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~iljeffer/photos/photos.htm This WW I draft registration may be the same man: John Matheus Fugua 07 Apr 1875 W Jefferson, IL This may be him and his parents in the 1880 census in Beaver Creek Twp, Hamilton Co, IL Milton Fugua age 28 Martha age 23 John M. age 5 Sarah J. age 10 months Anymore know more about this Charles E. Fuqua? Sandy
