She married Michael Czerwinski on October 14, 1935 at Du Bois, IL and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1982. INA -James Lon "Lonnie" Hill, 66, died at 7:05 a. m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at his home. Mr. Hill was born July 3, 1947, in Benton, the son of James V. Hill and Priscilla "Moni" (Miller) Hill. Lonnie worked at Mount Vernon for Tri-County Electric as a journeyman lineman for many years before opening his own automotive business, Classic Performance. He was a member of the IBEW Local 702 and was of the Baptist faith. Lonnie served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a helicopter mechanic and was also part of a rescue chopper outfit nicknamed "Pedro" during the Vietnam War. He studied automotive technology at Vocational Technical Institute at SIU Carbondale. He was an avid fisherman, boat and car enthusiast. He worked on a NASCAR Busch Series and Craftsman Truck Series Race Team. Wayman Harlan summed up Lonnie's life by saying "He was a poor man's best friend" and will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include his twin siblings, Bradley Hill of West Frankfort, and Kristin Hill (Mike) Neff of Florida; a son, James Lon Hill of Georgia; a niece, Lauren Monachella of Florida; and his significant other, Donna Simpkins of Ina. Donna brought much happiness into our brother's life and was by his side when he passed away. Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 4 p. m. Paul Duane Kash, 62, of West City, found peace on July 17th surrounded by his family in his home. He was born on September 6, 1950, at his family's home in Spring Garden Twp., Jefferson County, Illinois to Virgil Kash, Jr. and Beatrice (Sheridan) Kash. He married the former Jane LeVault on August 6, 2005 and she survives. Paul was the owner/operator of Stone Garden Landscaping which was his life and pride. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Paul was a hardworking young man whose life was cut short. He is survived by his wife, Jane (LeVault) Kash, West City, father and step-mother, Virgil Kash, Jr. and Naomi Kash, Benton, four daughters, Tracy Kirk, Walls, MS, Becky Yates, West Frankfort, Elizabeth Hasenjaegeer, West Frankfort, Kerri (Greg) White, McLeansboro, five grandchildren, Ashley Kash, Jared Kirk, Allyson Osborne, Xander Hasenjaegeer, and Donna White, one great-granddaughter, Bailey Kash, two sisters, Terena Kash of Benton, Carla (Lance) Barnes, Benton, one brother, Mony Kash, Benton, a step-sister, Ashley Sledge, Opdyke, nieces and nephews, Danielle (Josh) Hatfield, Tyler Koski, Adrea Barnes, Brent (Mindy) VanFossan, and his ever present companions, Abbie and Sophia. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice and his brother, Danny Kash. There will be a Celebration of Life Dinner at Barren Township Building located on Route 154 in Sesser, Illinois on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a memorial at 6:00 p. m. William Dwight “Bill” Whitlock, 85, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 5:49 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Bill was born on Wednesday, November 16, 1927 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of the late Lester and Ella (Ward) Whitlock. He married Anna Lee Adams on July 6, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Surviving family members include his wife: Anna Lee Whitlock of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; son: Ted Whitlock and wife Maria of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren: Lindsay, Adam and William Whitlock of Gainesville, Florida; brother: Bob Melcher and wife Cleva of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, their daughter: Lynn Renee Whitlock and one brother: Russell Whitlock preceded him in death. Bill graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School, attended University of Illinois after serving in the U.S. Navy and worked as a technician for Illinois after serving in the U.S. Navy and worked as a technician for Illinois Bell Telephone. He was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers and Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141, the Turner Roehm AMVETS Post 4, was a Christian and attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 11:30 A.M on Sunday, July 21, 2013 in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Reverend Joe Bob Pierce will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Paul Edward House, 46, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 4:04 P.M. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Paul was born on January 23, 1967 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of David W. and Barbara J. (Brien) House. Surviving family members include his mother: Barbara J. House of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 brothers: Mike House and John House both of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; sister: Angela Marie “Angie” House of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; aunts and uncles: Ronld House and wife Linda of Opdyke, Illinois, Jacque Payne and husband Richard of Wayne City, Illinois, Barbara Merchel and husband George of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Dolores Henson of Marion, Illinois, Edward Brien and wife Jacque of Palestine, Illinois; several cousins also survive. His father, grandparents, two uncles: Bill Henson and Don Hahn preceded him in death. Paul had worked at Kroger in Mt. Vernon, Illinois in the Bakery & Deli Department and was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at St. Mary Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Ernie Collins will officiate. VISITATION: There will be no visitation held.
