Fred L. Glenn 79-year-old Mount Vernon, IL and former Rockford, IL resident, Paul L. Glenn died at 11:20 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. He worked in construction, having been a house mover for Eby Movers. Survivors include his wife, Thelma of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Gene Ray Glenn of Seattle, WA and Roger Franklin Glenn of South Beloit, IL; two daughters, Sandra Sue Wilson of Rockford, IL and Sheila Mae Belt of Rockford, IL; 7 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Glenn of Rockford; a son-in-law, Lyman Wilson of Rockford and several nieces and nephews. Services for Paul L. Glenn will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IL with burial in Farnsworth Cemetery south of Keenes at a later date. Robert Ray “Bobby” Lane, 71, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:44 P.M. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Bobby was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1941 in Waltonville, Illinois the son of the late Virgil and Lela G. (Green) Lane.  He married Ann Hartwig in 1962 in Chicago, Illinois and she preceded him in death in March 1990. Surviving family members include his daughter: Anita Gorsuch of Kenosha, Wisconsin; son: Brian Lane of Round Lake, Illinois; grandchildren: Donald Springer of Salem, Wisconsin, James Kubisiak of Hales Corner, Wisconsin and Wayne Husko of Lindenhurst, Illinois; several cousins also survive including Harry Green of Waltonville, Illinois, Harriet Rathe of Waltonville, Illinois and Connie Pritchard of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. His parents, a stepsister: Kathryn Rainey, an infant brother, seven uncles and two aunts preceded him in death.    Bobby was a machinist for Illinois Tool Works. He was a multi-instrumentalist very active in the Chicago music scene and made many friends including Minnie Pearl, Salty Holmes and many more. His parents were very proud of his musical abilities and he was of the Catholic faith.  SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois. Josephine was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Cleveland, Tenn., a daughter of Perry Clifton and Clear Ivy (Humbard) Phillips. Jerry Thomas Farmer, age 65, of Mt. Vernon, passed away 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Jerry was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 19, 1948 the son of Melvin T. "Bill" Farmer and Ruth (Robling). He married Cindy (Ford) on August 29, 1969 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina and she survives in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Farmer served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was retired. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Farmer of Mt. Vernon; mother, Ruth Heiderscheit of DuQuoin; daughter, Christena Farmer Bruce of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Jeffrey Farmer of Mt. Vernon and Wayne Winkles and wife Angie of Winfield, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Jacob Bruce, Holley Bruce, Eric Bruce, Mercedez Farmer, Noah Farmer, Summer Winkles and Sailor Winkles; and also a sister, Judy Rogers and husband Cassell of Valier, IL. He was a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army. He worked formerly as a correctional officer in Vienna. VIENNA - Joyce Elliston Faulkner, 75, formerly of Vienna, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, in Union County Hospital in Anna. Joyce was born Oct. 3, 1937, in Mount Vernon. She was the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Phillips) Elliston. Joyce was united in marriage to Charles Faulkner on Nov. 13, 1975. He survives. Survivors include her daughters, Karen Stilley of Cobden, Bev (Dan) Gibbons of Cobden, Sharon Winn of Bettendorf, Iowa and Ann (Stephen) Wilson of Carbondale; her stepchildren, David (Karen) Faulkner of Vienna, Greg (Carolyn) Faulkner of Vienna, Terry (Tammy) Faulkner of Crab Orchard, Diane (Darren) Deskin of Lockport, Denise (Garry) Tanner of Tunnel Hill, Gayla (Tony) Sanders of Vienna and Kim (Gerald) Goines of Vienna; 25 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Louis (Mary) Elliston of McLeansboro; a sister, Kay (W.O.) Joyce was a graduate of McLeansboro High School. Together, Joyce and Charles operated a concrete lawn ornament business at West Vienna. Joyce was also a talented floral designer. In their retirement, Joyce and Charles enjoyed "snow birding" in Okeechobee, Fla., where they were members of Oak View Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Joyce had a deep love of gospel music and was a talented pianist. In accordance with Joyce's wishes, there will be a musical tribute in celebration of her life at 11 a.m. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Boyd Cemetery in Dix.
