Kay, John Rolla[Rollie] Wells was the son of Edward Bonnie Wells and Matilda Lynch. He was born Mar 16, 1879. The Ina Observer - Thursday, November 15, 1962 John Rolla Wells, well known retired farmer residing west of Bonnie, died suddenly Friday afternoon at the age of 83. He was born in Jefferson County, the son of Edward and Matilda (LYNCH) WELLS. He was married to Donna HODGE, who survives. He is also survived by 7 sons: Roy of Salem, Merle and Charles of Compton, Max of Oregon, Ill., Nobel of Westbrook, Everett of Bonnie, and Tom of Byron; a daughter, Mrs. Freda CASE of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Erie WELLS of Bonnie; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mayme SHELTON of Ina and Mrs. Ruby CAMPBELL of Bonnie; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hickory Hill Church, conducted by Rev. Harold WILLIAMSON. Burial was at the nearby cemetery. Thanks Jan, I have the obits. for Monica and her mom and brother, but don't have an obit for her dad. My relation to her through the McLean family is her dad's family line. I do have other Wells family connections including some second cousins. Those connections are from both of my parents family lines. She was born on April 22, 1916, to Clella and Lula(Cundiff) Conner in Ina, Ill. She spent her early childhood on the Sentel farm in Arthur, Ill.(Clella also know as Jack Conner) She attended Danville High School. On May 30, 1936, she married Andy(Aaron L.) Cohen in Covington, Ind. They operated Square Deal Auto Supply Store for 40 years. Andy preceded her in death April 3, 1996. Her brother, Harold Halliday (George Delbert Conner), died later that same year. Her survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Richard Lohroff of Gardnerville, Nev.; sisters-in-law, Alice Green of Tyler, Texas, Isabelle and Daniel Frankel of Las Vegas and Barbara Spizman of Northbrook, Ill.; and brother-in-law, Jack and Betty Cohen of Las Vegas. Mrs. Cohen's four nieces, seven nephews and three cousins are scattered throughout the Midwest and western United States. She was employed by Musbach Shoe Company and Carson Pirie Scott Department Store. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, League of Women Voters and Danville Garden Club. She served as a troop leader for Edison School's Girl Scouts for eight years. She was a talented gardener, cook and piano player. She loved her family, friends, dogs and horses, often referring to them all as extraordinary. Celebration of life memorial for Phyles will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Illinois Masonic Home near Sullivan on Highway 122. Burial is at Oak Hill Cemetery near Watseka, Ill. Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan, Ill., has taken care of the arrangements Notes: Harold M. Halliday was adopted about age 2, about 1920, and lived in Cairo IL. Clella (Jack) Conner was a cousin to Alva Fowler. Jack's mother, Ella, was a sister to Sam Fowler, Luther Monroe Fowler, Paralee Fowler Taylor,and Maggie Fowler Knowles, and a half sister to Eliza Fowler Roberts and Thomas Fowler. Monica's entire family is deceased, her dad Everett, her mom Faye and younger brother, Ward Wells are all deceased. Monica had 2 daughters, but I am unsure where they are. They are all buried at South Hickory Hill Cemetery, south of Mt Vernon in a family plot. MOUNT VERNON -- Wanda Lee Crowder, 85, died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, in Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Rescue Free Will Baptist Church in Whittington with Brother Bryant Harris officiating. Burial will be in Williams Chapel Cemetery in Ewing. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton, and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Rescue Free Will Baptist Church.
