Vernon, to Tandy Denver and Velma J. (Throgmorton) Wilson.Herbert Ray married Emma Lou Bart on April 1, 1950, and they had three children together. In 1989, he married Theresa Jane Burns.After graduating from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1948, Herbert Ray was hired at Caterpillar Inc., where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed fishing and racing boats on the Illinois River.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Doris Jean Standerfer; son Michael Lee Wilson; and his wife and his children’s mother. Surviving are a sister, Brenda (Larry) Stonecipher of Texico; brother Frederic (Karen) Vallowe of McLeansboro; two children, Linda (Dale) Wixson and David (Sandie) Wilson, both of East Peoria; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four nieces, two nephews and five great-nieces; and brother-in-law Ernest D. Zachary Taylor Braddy, age 18, of Salem, died September 2, 2013 at St. Mary Hospital in Centralia.   Zachary had a very outgoing spirit.  He enjoyed being with his family and especially liked his brother and sister pushing him around in his wheel chair as he expressed abundant laughter.  He liked watching cartoons, listening to music, swimming and was escpecially fond of balloons; many balloons.  He loved the sound of anything motorized and especially like trucks, both real and toy which included spending time at the Iuka Fire Station with the firetrucks that his Dad served on.  He was a St. Louis Cardinal fan. Watching football with his Dad was a special moment for both father and son.   Funeral services for Zachary Taylor Braddy will be 11:00 Thursday morning at the Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Bill Cash officiating.  Burial will follow at the Summit Prairie Cemetery. He was united in marriage to Patricia Pasterski on Nov. 14, 1981, and she preceded him in death on May 21, 2013.Mr. Dreas was a lifelong farmer and was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a board member on the Village of Radom council. D’Ella Jo Ratley, 35, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Carmi, Illinois.  She was born on Saturday, December 3, 1977 in Saint Louis, Missouri to mother: June “Judy” (Rogers) Kirkland.  She married Shawn Ratley on December 13, 2004 in Marion, Illinois. D’Ella is survived by her husband:  Shawn Ratley of Evansville, Indiana, three sons:  Jayston Wright of Evansville, Indiana; Daniel Fullerton of Evansville, Indiana; and William Thomas Nelson Ratley of Evansville, Indiana, daughter:  Briana Fullerton of Evansville, Indiana, two brothers:  Bruce Kirkland and wife Carol of Tucson, Arizona and Randy Kirkland and wife Barb of Saint Louis, Missouri, two sisters:  Valinda Kirkland of Paoli Peaks, Indiana and Robin Prather and husband Danny of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews including: Sierra Mitchell, Marissa Shick, and Hayle Shick. Her mother and cousin: Cassell Stewart preceded her in death.   DElla worked as a classroom teacher at Malones Early Learning Center in Carterville.   Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 2, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend David Schlag officiating. VISITATION: will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois In honor of D’Ella’s wishes following services she will be cremated.
