    2. Philip Andrew Burke, 40, of Carbondale, died on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the Indiana University Health Hospital in Indianapolis. Philip had Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).Philip was born on April 30, 1973, in Mt. Vernon, to Sandra (Young) and Thomas Burke.He graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School in 1991, and married Jennifer Sheets on July 4, 1994, in Cobden. Philip went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology in 1995, Master of Music, Opera and Music Theater in 1998, Master of Arts, Clinical Psychology in 2002, and a Doctor of Philosophy, Clinical Psychology in 2005.Philip was a licensed psychologist and operated Burke Behavioral Health before taking a faculty position at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he had the opportunity to teach, practice psychology and conduct research. Philip was also co-choir director with his wife at the First Presbyterian Church of Cobden, had for many years been involved with the Christian Education Committee for the youth in the church and was involved in the addition of a new fellowship hall for the church.In addition, Philip was named Volunteer of the Year for 2013 for PSC Partners Seeking a Cure and was very involved in managing the Facebook site. He also created and established the non-profit organization titled More Than Illness.He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; two sons, Leslie and Andrew; daughter, Rachel; mother, Sandra of Mt. Vernon; stepmother, Elaine of Imperial, Mo.; brother, Jeremy (Andrea) of Milton Mills, N.H., and their children, Eliana, Makenna, Zane and Galen; brother, Eric (Jennifer) of O’Fallon, Mo., and their children, Aidan and Tanner; Eric’s daughter, Brittany Jackson of Mt. Vernon and her children, Izak and Lailah; brother, Christopher (Candice) of O’Fallon, Mo.; father-in-law, Leslie Sheets (Millie Jackson) of Bowling Green, Mo.; sister-in-law, Cynthia Sheets (Mark Eaton) of San Jose, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Philip was preceded in death by his father, Tom Burke and mother-in-law, Joyce Sheets.A memorial service for Philip Andrew Burke will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Cobden with the Rev. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Carl and Cora (Brown) Warner.  She married Joe Leroy Blagg on March 26, 1948 in Morganfield, Kentucky.  He preceded her in death on October 12, 2003.  Surviving family members include son: Steven Blagg of Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 grandchildren: Luke Crawford, Stephanie Blagg and John Blagg; 1 great grandson; sister: Dorothy Sinks and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, and daughter: Nancy Crawford preceded her in death.    Delores was a homemaker and cleaned homes for many people and she was a member of Summersville Baptist Church in Mt. Harry was born on Wednesday, January 20, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of the late Harry Edward and Anna Belle (Uselton) Coberly.  Harry was first married to Beverly York.  He later married Meg Hoxworth on September 10, 1988 in Centralia, Illinois. Surviving family members include his wife: Meg Coberly of Farina, Illinois; 5 daughters: Theresa Ile and husband David of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Beth Bocherding and husband Rockie of Iuka, Illinois, Susie Chrostoski and husband Steve of Herrin, Illinois, Dee Sledge and husband Jeff of Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of the late William Henry and Eloise Elona (Hofer) Ratliff.  Surviving family members include his daughter: Christy Baxter of Nampa, Idaho; ex-wife: Diana Hunter of Nampa, Idaho; 2 brothers: Jim Ratliff and wife Wanda of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and William Ratliff; 2 grandchildren also survive. His parents preceded him in death.    Bob served our country in the United States Marine Corps in 1959 and 1960. He worked as a self employed salesman. He loved to travel and managed to visit the entire United States through his travels. He enjoyed meeting and talking to people and was a very gifted story teller.   In honor of Bob's wishes he was cremated and no public services were held.

Vernon, to Steven Mikolajczyk Schultz and Josephine Geiger Schultz.Mary married George A. Gianakos in Chicago on Jan. 29, 1950, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1990. Mary married George J. Meyer on Oct. 12, 2003, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2010.Mary worked for Kemper Insurance Companies in Chicago for 27 years. She worked for Nations Bank in New Port Richey, Fla., for 9 years. She was a waitress, receptionist and bookkeeper among other jobs.She was treasurer and activities chairman for Kemper Insurance Women’s Club in Chicago. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of Penelope in New Port Richey, Fla. She was a member of the American Legion and a past member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Mt. Vernon. She served as president, second vice president, secretary, treasurer and various chairman of G.F.W.C. Mt. Vernon Women Club. She was also president of the St. Mary Good Samaritan Auxiliary where she volunteered for 13 years.She is survived by one sister, Florine “Peg” Stone of Benicia, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Faye Schultz and husband, David of Mt. Vernon, Lois Meyer of Mt. Vernon and Jane Heins and husband Phillip of Bluford; three stepgranddaughters, Renee Thomason and husband Dameon of Mt. Anderson (1925-1980) is son of James Veryl Anderson (1901-1977) and Rosa May Peyton (1904-1996) - all buried at Memorial Gardens, JCI James Veryl Anderson is a son of Jabez Jarvis Anderson and Doretta Florence Maulding (sister of my great grandmother).     2. Billie Jo McManus, age 37, of Pinckneyville passed away 3:10 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon Billie was born September 1, 1976 in Sparta, IL a daughter of Lawrence Wade Turner Sr. and Bertha Joyce (Gaston). Billie worked as a CNA for various nursing homes. She had attended the Rosedale Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. She is survived by her three children, Madison McManus, Quintin McManus both of Ellis Grove, IL and Nevaeh McManus of Nashville; fiancé, Dean Manka of Nashville; two brothers, J.R. Turner and wife Heather of West Frankfort and Frank Turner of Thompsonville; special aunt, Karen and husband Skip Bird of Pinckneyville; she is also survived by several half brothers, half sisters, nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Wade Turner Sr. and Bertha Joyce (Gaston) Vickery; sister Donita Turner; maternal grandmother, Dona Gaston and also aunt JoAnnis "JoJo" Keene. A Celebration of life Service will be help 3 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Rosedale Baptist Church 314 South Beaucoup in Pinckneyville, IL with Rev Charles A. Smith officiating. For those who wish in Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the McManus Family and will be accepted at the service.

Vernon Register-News /September 20, 2013/ Lena Windland *The Register-News* ---- — The Rev. Lena M. Windland, 89, died 7:25 p.m. Sept. 18, 2013, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. She was born May 30, 1924, in Keenes, the daughter of Tilford and Lizzie (Holthouse) McKinney. She married the Rev. Luther Otto Windland on Sept. 4, 1945. She was a minister, CNA and worked at the dress factory. She is survived by daughters, Edna (Jim) Todd of Fairfield, Anna Beasley of Cisne and Carolyn (Jack) Luetge of Frisco, Texas; sons, Harry (Christine) Windland of Bluford and Bill (Annette) Windland of Cape Coral, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bob McKinney of Bluford; and brother-in-law, Nelson (Doris) Windland of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Luther Otto Windland; her parents; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City. Interment will be at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the chapel in Wayne City. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Archie Sanders Memorial Chapel. Arrangements were conducted by the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.

    3. Anyone know who her Windland husband was? Just a wild guess he might be Luther O. Windland but just guessing because of age and location. I believe she was daughter of Rufus Tilford McKinney and Lizzie Holthouse from looking at census and marriage records.
