    2. Janet Marie (Wynn) Wagner, 72, of Du Quoin, passed away at 5:35 P.M., Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Janet held many different occupations throughout her lifetime. She had worked at the Du Quoin Packing Company and North 51 Restaurant. She was a caregiver for quite a few elderly people throughout the years and had been a homemaker for quite a few years as well. She loved her grandkids very much. She also loved to do home canning. She canned anything from green beans to tomato juice to homemade soup mix. She also loved to make homemade jelly. She enjoyed watching the cardinals on her bird feeders and loved gardening and the fresh veggies they provided. She was born October 16, 1940 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Quinn O. and Flossie M. (Hamilton) Wynn. She was the oldest of four children. She married Charles Wagner in 1964. She is survived by three children - Glen Wagner and family of Vergennes, Cheryl Presswood and husband Jason of Scheller, and Krystal Marlow and husband Kevin of Elkville, three special grandchildren - Ashli Presswood, Ethan Marlow, and Adrian Marlow, one brother - William Wynn and wife Liz of Du Quoin, sister-in-law - Ruth Wynn of Pinckneyville, aunt - Fanny Grisham of South Carolina, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother - Charles Wynn and one sister - Exie Doerr.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with the family conducting the service. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. Burial will be in the Primitive Baptist Cemetery at Du Quoin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the Primitive Baptist Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.

She is survived by her 3 children: Judith and Saul of Mexico and Daniel Hernandez, Sr. and wife Irene of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; many grand and great grand children and many nieces and nephews in Mexico.  Grandchildren in US are Crystal Marlow and husband Travis and Marion D. Hernandez of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; great grandchildren are Devin, Nathaniel and Jacob Marlow. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two children.    While raising her children she worked side-by-side with her husband in church work and their jewelry business.   She will be laid to rest on Monday, September 30, 2013 in her hometown.

    2. Marvin Edward Dye, age 83 of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, October, 2 2013 at his residence. Marvin was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on June 28, 1930 the son of Herman E "Ted" and Mildred (Trowbridge) Dye. He married Mary Elizabeth(Curtis) on July 23, 1949 in Morganfield, Kentucky and she survives in Mt. Vernon. He was a Christian and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Dye worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory, Brehm-Hanna Chevrolet, W.G. Motors and later worked as a custodian for Mount Vernon City Schools District 80 for 25 years. He is survived by his wife Mary (Curtis) Dye of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Ronald Lee Dye and wife Sheila of Mt. Vernon and Tony Dye of St. Louis, Missouri; grandsons, Mark Dye and wife Tonya of Bluford and Danny Dye and wife Kelli of Bluford; two great-grandsons; Koaltin Dye and Brendan Dye; one great-granddaughter Kaisi Dye and also survived by two special friends Georgia Anderson and Joanna Musgrave. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, October 4, 2013 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with his grandson Pastor Mark Dye officiating. The Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon, Illinois a son of Lewis and Margaret Opal (Beckham) Morgan. Enoch married Dorothy (Glover) on April 29, 1962 in Mt. Vernon and she survives in Mt. Vernon. Enoch was a member of the South Hickory Hill Christian Church in Mt. Vernon. He had worked for Continental General Tire in Mt. Vernon and was a lifelong farmer. He especially enjoyed working on the Hill with his trees and strawberries. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Morgan of Mt. Vernon; son, Enoch Duane Morgan and wife Michelle of Mt.     2. John Mark Mitroy, 57, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:39 A.M. on Monday, September 23, 2013 at his home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.  Mark was born on Friday, January 27, 1956 in Centralia, Illinois the son of the late John R. and Melvadine (Monical) Mitroy.  Surviving family members include his sister: Monica Uren and husband Randy of Spring, Texas; 2 nephews: John T. Krebs of Spring, Texas and Joseph Kreps and wife Angie of Spring, Texas; aunt: Irene Vaught of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. His parents preceded him in death.    Mark worked for Nelson Concrete and Mt. Vernon Neon and was of the Protestant Faith.  GRAVESIDE MEMORIAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Brad Henson will officiate. VISITATION: Mark will be cremated and his family and friends will gather from 5 to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Donor's Choice and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.

    2. Norman R. Cravens 77-year-old Dahlgren resident, Norman R. Cravens died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at his home. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in Korea.  He had been a salesman, employed by Wabash Valley Service Company. He was a member of the Jefferson Lodge 0368 A.F.& A.M. of Opdyke, IL. Survivors include his wife, Lena Cravens of Dahlgren; a son, Scott Cravens of Dahlgren; two brothers; two sisters and 5 grandchildren, Aaron Scott, Austin Jeffrey, and Rylan Mellott Cravens of Dahlgren, Amy Green of Denver, CO and Briar Curd of Dahlgren. Services for Norman R. Cravens will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27 at the Freedom Baptist Church in McLeansboro with burial in the Oddfellows Cemetery at Dahlgren.  Graveside military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post 106 of Mcleansboro and a Military Honors Team from Marion, IL. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 Thursday evening, Sept. 26 at the Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren and 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the Freedom Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Memorials may be made to the Freedom Baptist Church and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home of Dahlgren, which is in charge of all the arrangements.

    2. Together with their parents, Alysha Wilkerson and Caleb Suver are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.Alysha is the daughter of David and Mary Wilkerson of Dahlgren. She is the granddaughter of Katherine and the late Bill Whipple and Lois and the late Kenneth Wilkerson of Belle Rive. She is a 2010 graduate of Hamilton County Senior High and obtained her associate degree in administration and health information from Rend Lake College in 2012. Alysha is currently employed at Joy Global in Mt. Vernon.Caleb is the son of John and Ronda Suver of Ewing. His grandparents are Ron and Phyllis Gibbs of Ewing and Bruce and Donna Suver of Onarga. He is a 2011 graduate of Benton Consolidated High School and obtained and associate degree from John A. Logan College in construction management. Caleb is currently employed with DBC Builders.Alysha and Caleb will exchange their vows on Oct. 5 at the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Formal invitations have been sent.
