    1. [ILJEFFER] Baker KING obit, 1898
    2. Pat Corona
    3. “Our community was grieved last Friday morning to hear that one of the oldest citizens and pioneers of Franklin County, Mr. Baker KING had quietly passed away at his residence, Thusday, Nov. 3rd, 1898, at the age of 83 years, 4 months, and 6 days. Mr. KING was born in Smith County, Tennessee, June 27, 1810. He moved with his father, William to the then Territory of Illinois and present county of Franklin in 1813. He lived a number of years 6 miles east of Benton and moved from there to Jefferson County, Illinois. He temporarily resided fro a few years in the state of Missouri. He again moved back to Franklin County and in 1846 bought a large tract of land, which was never under mortgage. He lived on this same farm at time of his death. He was charter member of Horse Prairie Missionary Baptist Church and the only one living at the time of his death out of 26, which was the number organized in 1857. He was married October 12, 1836 to Miss Julia Anne Clifford DALE. They lived together until the death of Mrs. King January 6, 1896. Four children were born unto them, two of which died in infancy and two living to be grown, both having families. Only one child is now living. Mr. KING has five grandchildren now living and seven dead, and 11 great grand-children. He was one of the oldest and most widely known of any citizen in Franklin County. He was a model of integrity and a home for the orphan. His doors were always open to the poor and his hospitality to the stranger was unbounded. Truly be it said that a great man has fallen among us, and we unite together and sincerely bemoaning his loss. Although being nearly deaf and blind, he was willing and ready to die. Written by Millard E. POLLEY. Given to Merretta GRAHAM by Dallas REA. The copy we have, the heading is not readable or the last five lines.” ****Source: Goode/Barren Hist. Gen. Soc. 1. [ILJEFFER] WARREN, Steven Clyde (OBIT)
    2. Steven Clyde Warren, 60, of Apple Valley, Calif., was taken home to the Lord on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.Steven was born to John and Janet Warren on March 30, 1953, in Mt. Vernon. At the age of 4, his family moved to Chino, Calif., and lived there for 20 years. Steven married Stella Vasquez in June 1973, in Pomona, Calif., before serving in the U.S. Army for four years where he reached the rank of sergeant. After stations in Virginia (where Steven was born) and Kentucky (where Derek was born), Steven and Stella moved to Nampa, Idaho (where Brandon was born) and he attended Boise State University, receiving his BA in Accounting. Later, he moved to Alaska and lived with his sons in both Anchorage and Fairbanks, and ultimately finished his years splitting time between Apple Valley and Nampa.Steven always enjoyed the outdoors: fishing, camping, hunting and just being outside. He worked many summers in the Alaskan salmon industry as financial officer for multiple canning and processing companies. A self-titled “mountain man,” he was always at home in the wild of Alaska, and always spoke highly of his time spent there.Steven was also known as “such a great cook” by many of his close friends and family, and always ready to step in and lend a hand in the kitchen. He also worked for a while as a caterer, never shy about showing off his cooking or offering to make one of his specialities such as chicken gizzards or his signature fish fry — always a crowd favorite.Steven loved his home state of Illinois. He spent many summers visiting his Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins, special Aunt Brenda and Jeanie, Uncle Ronnie, Delores and Clifford, Jacksons, Lovins, Hesses and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.Steven had recently been baptized at Calvary Baptist Chapel, near his home in California. He is survived by his mother, Janet Warren of Nampa, Idaho; sisters Diana Hunter and Juli Flowers of Nampa, Idaho; brother Chris Warren of Nampa; sons Steven Warren of Boise, Idaho, Brandon Warren of Marysville, W. Va., and Derek and his family: wife Amy and daughters Willamina and Adrienne; two granddaughters of Sammamish, W. Va.; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Steven will be very much missed by all.Steven was preceded in death by father John Warren; grandparents Clifford and Lois Hawkins; grandmother Mae Warren; aunt Judy Wagner and cousins Cort Harrison and William Jackson.Memorial services will be held Nov. 1, 2013, at Idaho State Veterans’ Cemetery. - See more at: http://register-news.com/obituaries/x1909749383/Steven-Warren#sthash.EvNjZ5oP.dpuf
