Mt. Vernon Register News, Mt. Vernon, IL, Thursday, February 1, 1934 Aged Woman of Spring Garden Died Early This Morning (Licena Cochran Lemke) Corner J. D. Dodds received an early morning call today from Spring Garden Township notifying him of the death about 3 o'clock this morning of Mrs. Lucina (Licina) LEMKE. Mrs. LEMKE, who was 72 years old, it seems lived alone, and two neighbors Lawrence C. COCHRAN and Ralph COCHRAN, respectively father and son, were with her when she died. The son testified he called at Mrs. LEMKE's home about 4 p.m. yesterday, looked after the fire, gave her a drink of water, and a little grape wine in a spoon, as she was too weak to drink it from a glass or cup. The father and son spent the night at the home, and the father testified as follows: "I came over here about dark yesterday and no one was here. I asked her if she wanted anything and she said no. I went over to Ralph COCHRAN's to see if he could come over and stay with me, and we came back together. We never realized she was as bad off as she was. About midnight she commenced moaning and about 3 o'clock she got weaker and stopped moaning. We looked at her and felt her pulse and found she was dead." Other neighbors, men and women were immediately notified of her death and came to the home. Mrs. LEMKE had been in impaired health, and it was stated a physician she consulted about seven months ago told her she would live only six months. It is stated death was caused by cancer of the breast. Testimony at the inquest showed that Mrs. LEMKE had been confined to her bed ever since Saturday. Corner Dodds may be reached in daytime by calling phone 1008 and at night by calling police headquarters 628-J. ____________________________________________________________ The End of the "Made-In-China" Era The impossible (but real) technology that could make you impossibly rich. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3131/53acbf7ca43953f7c7530st01duc

Mt. Vernon Weekly Register - Wednesday, December 8, 1897 >From Kirby Smith: The Register learns the details of a distressing accident in Moore's Prairie last Saturday, which resulted in the death of Mrs. John Cochran while driving along the road to Hungry Hill Church, where she was going to attend religious services. Mrs. Cochran, accompanied by a young lady, whose name we were unable to learn, were driving along a piece of very bad roadway about half a mile east of the church, when they met a boy on horseback coming down the road and in attempting to pass (maybe meet) him on a narrow culvert, were precipitated to the bottom of the creek by one of the wheels being crowded off the end of the bridge. Mrs. Cochran and her companion were thrown a distance of about 12 feet and the former fell in such a way as to severely affect her spine resulting in complete paralysis. She was taken to her home, about four or five miles distant, and a physician summoned to treat her injuries, but all to no purpose, and after lingering until Tuesday, death came to her relief. The funeral of the unfortunate woman took place yesterday. The interment was in the family burying ground in Moore's Prairie. Mr. T. W. Piper of this city, was a son-in-law of the deceased. (This should be John W. Piper.) This is the obituary of Margaret (Sanders) Cochrane and she is buried in the Cochrane Family Cemetery located in Section 17 of Moore's Prairie Township, Jefferson County, IL.) ____________________________________________________________ Do THIS before eating carbs (every time) 1 EASY tip to increase fat-burning, lower blood sugar & decrease fat storage http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL3131/53a9a15f36d3c215f7cc3st03duc

Does anyone know more about his Richardson ancestry? I can see him with his parents in 1940 and see his parents in 1930 but can't find his father prior to that. His father is age 31 in 1930 census and mother age 26 and they have been married about 6 years. Living in Knights Prairie Twp, HCI. Both show they were born in IL as well as all their parents born in IL. Sandy On 6/12/2014 5:03 PM, Larry Lance wrote: > Norman M. Richardson > > May 15, 1930 - June 11, 2014 > > Norman M.
