Thanks everyone! I can't tie this Johnston line into mine. My Noah was the son of George Johnston born 1769 in Prince William, VA and Margaret Stone. George died 1849 in Adams County, IL. Jan, I'd love to see that biography booklet written by Noah! Nancy Oard wasn't the daughter of Jonathan Wells. His daughter Mary Ann Wells married Edward Carter and had my G-Grandmother, Sarah M. Carter. Sarah married Augustus Milton Oard. I think that might be who you are thinking about. Your James Thomas was Mary Ann's brother. I am also a directly descended through Jonathan's brother William through his son William Jr. This line also married into my Oard/Ords. -----Original Message----- From: iljeffer-request@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, June 29, 2014 8:44 PM To: iljeffer@rootsweb.com Subject: ILJEFFER Digest, Vol 9, Issue 220 *IMPORTANT* When replying to a digest message, DO NOT just hit Reply (which will send the entire digest back to the list). Noah's wife Mary Bullock comes from my Oard and Bullock lines. Oard/Bullock marriages were pretty common. Mary's parent's were Samuel L. Bullock, Sr. and Nancy A. Oard. There is a biography booklet written by Noah Johnston in the genealogy section of the Mt Vernon library. Apparently Noah was known for his memory and recolllection ability. I read it several years back although there was nothing that pertained to what I was searching for at that time. Nancy Oard, was she a daughter of Jonathan Wells? or grandaughter? I am James Thomas Wells line On Sun, Jun 29, 2014 at 12:52 PM, Michelle Wisniewski < michellewisniewski1@comcast.net> wrote: > LOL Jan, I swear I'm related somehow to just about everyone that came > through Jefferson County. LOL Jan, I swear I'm related somehow to just about everyone that came through Jefferson County. Noah's wife Mary Bullock comes from my Oard and Bullock lines. Oard/Bullock marriages were pretty common. Mary's parent's were Samuel L. Bullock, Sr. and Nancy A. Oard.
