    1. [ILJEFFER] David Timothy Richardson obit
    2. Does anyone know more about his Richardson family? His wife is my first cousin, once removed and I just sent her obit a few minutes ago. Pacific, MO is just west of St. Louis along I-44. His father was a minister of Baptist church according to the 1940 census for Travis Twp, Madison County, MO. His parents, William J. and Helen Richardson were living in St. Louis, MO in the 1930 census and only married a couple of years. William says his father was born in IL so I wonder if he's related to any of the Richardson families from Wayne and/or Jefferson Co., IL. Sunday, March 31, 2013 Chattanooga Times Free Press David Timothy Richardson, 77, of Chattanooga, TN, died on Friday, March 29, 2013 in a flying accident. On June 9, 1957, he married the former Earlita Sanders in Wayne City, Illinois. He was a member of the Century men. He was a man of many talents one of which included flying airplanes. 2. Sandy Bauer
    3. Hmm, mixed family here. Iva's first husband died in 1923 as well. How sad, his wife must have been pregnant at the time he died as Dorothy was born 7 months later. *Carl Edward Farthing* Carl Edward FARTHING was born March 8, 1894, and died April 22, 1923, aged 29y1m14d. He was united in marriage with Iva Elsie CAMPBELL, November 4, 1920. Deceased left surviving him, his wife and daughter, Fretta Louise, aged 10 months, his father, Michael FARTHING, mother, Rosalee FARTHING, and one sister, Ada PIGG, and many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his death. He was an affectionate husband, father, son and brother. He was a Master Mason of Jefferson Lodge 368 of Opdyke, and a member of M.W.A. Camp 7139 of Ina. Tuesday evening, April 24, he told his father that he had arranged all his business and other affairs and was ready to do all in his power in the effort to be restored to health, but expressed the belief he would never be able to stand the ordeal, but was willing to try whatever seemed for the best.. His great love for his little daughter was very strong, and he told his wife if he should die to tenderly care for her. *** (Burials by Fred Justice gives date of death April 22, 1923 which is Sunday , so Tuesday evening would be April 19.) 1. [ILJEFFER] RESEARCHING
    2. Betty Sink
    3. WHAT TO LOOK FOR and where, when RESEARCHING When conducting courthouse research, it's perfectly permissible to wait until you get to a courthouse and then ask where each record you want is housed and how far back it goes. But in this day and age, it's not the most efficient approach. First, the records may exist at another location, which can be a hassle or even a deal-breaker for those with limited time or transportation. Using online finding aids and digitized or microfilmed records can free up more of whatever time you have at the courthouse to dig for obscure or hard-to-find records. What a waste of time it would be to spend all your courthouse time copying vital records you could have accessed from home, only to leave untouched the probate packets you can't access from home. Finally, sometimes it's not possible to visit a courthouse in person. When you learn all you can online, you reduce the expenses of hiring a local to research for you or of paying courthouse staff to copy and mail you documents, which not all offices will even do. The most valuable online sources for learning what county data exists are these: 1. county offices and their websites 2. county genealogical societies and their websites 3. websites devoted to county-level research, like USGenWeb <http://click.familytreecommunity.com/?qs=9565e49ac72bff39fe067a007219baea2028c70db96cae4521b9fe5928aec72953acf8ac360bb942> or RootsWeb <http://click.familytreecommunity.com/?qs=9565e49ac72bff399675ee3d9dbca02b24b77df180bb44e08f0195b2f3dadf44a644b8b0c0b8a02b> sites 4. recently-published guides to local or regional genealogical research 5. online card catalogs like WorldCat <http://click.familytreecommunity.com/?qs=9565e49ac72bff392559d9a98d0f48b3e2acd921c66129b04edf85e3c7a830bf6d473c3fbdb7e911>, the Family History Library (see below), and favorite regional libraries 6. online card catalogs of your favorite genealogical data websites 7. for older vital records now under custody of the state: state archives and their websites, state genealogical 8. guides like Family Tree Magazine's State Guide series and The Family Tree Sourcebook Learn more about the above resources in Court Records 101 <http://click.familytreecommunity.com/?qs=9565e49ac72bff39d3806606652ae5b8b5e660237c4e99c2da07ce6bf7ae794be3bb9e2502d03d6d> !

One is a third cousin once removed and two are fourth cousins. All are part of my maternal line, and two are from the same maternal family. Now on to finding out how I'm related to all these cousins.

    3. We only have her name as Carrie in at least 2 or 3 places. I think Etna may have married again as John Cockrum is the administrator for Julia Etna Martin who died intestate May 12, 1874. 3. When I was looking at this newspaper and found the death of Daniel Fitzgerald, I thought he may be the father of Carrie but after checking I know he isn't the one. Guardianships JCI: Carrie Fitzjerrell, born October 10, 1869, minor heir of Daniel Fitzjerrell Guardian appointed May 15, 1871 - Logan Fitzjerrell; John Cockrum bondsman Guardian died January 2, 1879 (this would be Logan) Guardian appointed - January 6, 1879 - John Cockrum: Thomas W. Davis and John W. Fitzjerrell (John Cockrum is the guardian and the other two are sureties or bondsmen) This Daniel Fitzjerrell died about May 6, 1871 and his widow was Etna. Spring Garden, JCI 1870 Daniel Fitsgerald 25 Etna Fitsgerald 27 Cora Fitsgerald 10/12 Bergmer Kennedy 10 (his name may be Kennedy Bergmer) Logan & William are right next door. My goal is to find a death date for John Cockrum. A letter from McLeansboro dated 1888 from Carrie to John Cockrum mentions her brother who is very ill. Of course, the brother's isn't named and I don't know who he is. She also calls her guardian Uncle John but that doesn't necessarily mean he was her uncle because everyone called my ggrandfather "Uncle Alf".
