Even(sic) and Jane Phillips Family Bible was copied in April, 1986 by Donna M Wilson of Canton, Ohio whos husband is a descandant of Evan and Jane Philips. The entries relating to their children follow: ANN PHILLIPS daughter of EVEN and JANE PHILLIPS was born the 5th day of April and the 7th day of the week about 4 O. Clock in the morning in the year of our Lord 1783. DAVID AND ENOCH PHILLIPS was born the 22nd day of October the first day of the week about 10 O Clock in the morning 1786. JANE PHILLIPS was born the 2nd day of March the 4th day of the week in the year of our Lord 1791. MARY PHILLIPS daughter of EVEN AND JANE PHILLIPS was born the 11th day of January the 7th day of the week about 4 O Clock in the morning in the year 1794. WILLIAM PHILLIPS was born the 5th day of January and the 5th day of the week about nine O Clock in the morning in the year of our Lord 1797. EVEN PHILLIPS was born the 1st day of September and the 1st day of the week in the year of our Lord 1799. JOHN PHILLIPS was born the 2nd day of October and the 7th day of the week in the year of our Lord 1802. MATILDA PHILLIPS was born February the 4th day of the month and the 4th day of the week in the year of our Lord 1807. R. (There is no explanation for this R) The Ann shown is most probably Ruhanna Phillips since other information indicates 1783 is appropriate for her birth year and both Will and Deed records prove Ruhanna as a daughter of Evan and Jane Phillips. Nancy Phillips is not shown in this Bible; however, both Evan and Jane Phillips acknowledge her as heir (Jane refers to her as her daughter in her will). I would like to communicate with any descendants of Evan and Jane Philips. He was born about 1760, lived in Ohio County, Vi (WV) in the 1780 to mid 1790's and moved to Belmont County, Ohio before 1800 and died there about Jan 1824. Jane (Unknown) Philips died about June 1825. Their son David Philips lived in Guernsey County, Ohio and his son Evan Philips (my gg grandfather)moved to Richland/ Jasper County, Illinois about 1854 where his family remained until today.
