As many of you are aware, because of budget problems, the state of Illinois is no longer able to provide death certificates by mail. However, the Illinois State Genealogical Society has established as a fund raiser for the Society and to assist members and researchers who live out of state or do not have access to the Archives facility, a process for obtaining the certificates. For some counties this is cheaper than going to the County Clerk. In other counties it is not.
