    3. Thank you Randy, for your suggestion. I think the military census was done in 1861 or 1862 and was of men who were of a certain age (able to fight). I think the 1855 and 1865 census were done by the Sate of Illinois and included all head of households in the state. I have just found out about all of these census, as a result of my posting about my family, so this gives me leads for future research. Life has been too busy lately for me to do much research, but I will keep this information for the future. Thank you for your response!
