Anita: I would be interested in the EVANS family you are researching. Are they also in Jackson County? My main interest is in a Phyllis/Philis Evans who was married to a Thomas Evans. The best I can determine is they arrived in this country from Kent County England around late 1860 or early 1861. I am basing this on a naturalization certificate for her brother Charley Baseden that is dated 1869. I knew about the Baseden family back in 1995 but I was not aware that Phillis Evans is actually my 2nd great grandmother. In Kent County her name was Phillis/Phyllis Baseden. Her son Henry was born out of wedlock and appears given to her parents. The father was required to pay alimony. The Baseden family moved to Illinois straight from England and it appears that Thomas and Phyllis Evans also moved at the same time. It is this family that I am looking for. Her first born child, Charles Evans, is named after her brother Charles Baseden. Thanks.
