Dear Fellow List Members, I wish to extend my best wishes for a safe and happy thanksgiving for each and every one of you. As you pack up your things to get ready for your trip to "Grandmother's House", or wherever your are bound, don't forget to take your genealogy "search tools with you." Thanksgiving gatherings provide a wonderful opportunity to ask questions about your grandparents, great grandparents, and great, great grandparents. *Where did they live? *How long had they lived in the community? *Who were their brothers and sisters? *What did they do for a living? *Did your ancestors immigrate to the United States in the 19th or 20th Century? *What was their country of origin? *Did your ancestors serve in World War I, World War II, the Civil War, the War of 1812 or the Revolutionary War? It is also a wonderful time to share photos and to search out the names of those pictured in the photos. I have a stack of photos from the turn of the century which have no names on them and there is no one left in the family who might be able to identify them for me - a sad loss. So, don't miss this opportunity to gather information from your family members. Then, when you come back to the list after the Holiday, please share with us what you have learned. Again, have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving! ~Karima
