My 2nd Great Grandmother was Sarah Jane Asa she married Edward Jones and they resided in Jackson Co. IL. Her mother was Mary Jane Davis she married a man with the last name Asa. They had 3 children that I know of Sarah Jane Asa, John Asa, and William Asa. They are all in and out of Jackson Co. Franklin Co., and Williamson Co. IL. I have found several possible connections but cannot confirm them as of yet. If you have any information about this family please contact me at anytime at the below listed addresses. Dear Ralph, You may know this already, but I find Edward Jones and John W. Grammer listed as local men who served in the Civil War in the "History of Jackson County, Illinois" 1878, p. 126. There was a large extended family of Jones' who settled in Kinkaid tsp. And there are many Grammers still in Jackson Co., including the ones who have had a large orchard south of Murphysboro for genereations. I would imagine there would be more info on these families at the Jackson Co. Historical Society.
