Right now for some reason I can get incoming but no outgoing mail (perhaps someone upstairs has my delete key held down to keep me from having another tantrum...) I'm having to use our ISP's web based server to answer mail so bear with me. I'm gonna try and cut/paste and answer several in one. ----------- From: Ddhamm@aol.com I would be happy to volunteer to help anyone with their images that they want to upload to the website. I am a graphic designer and if you want help with how to resize scanned photos to optimize them for web use, please contact me. We can either have you send them to me or I could try to work with you on how to use your own photo editing software to do this. DeeDee --------- Boy what a great offer and you have no idea how glad I was to see that one. One of the reasons it takes so long for me to get photos posted is that most of the time I have to go in and resize each one, clean them up, etc. It is a little time consuming and this is a wonderful offer of assistance from Dee Dee. THANK YOU!!! ---------- From: Baldwin <baldwinman@yahoo.com> My big holdback is I am intimitated on how to do this. How do I do all the submitting. Also I have scanned my photos at a high resolution creating in depth but large memory size jpegs.. What do I need to do in this case. Can I submit as they are or will I need to rescan everything? I also have not transcribed many of the bios I do have from the various books out of fear that someone else is in the process of it... Should we contact you before starting to let you know what we are working on? __________- Each introductory page of the site (cemetery, bio, obit, photo album, etc) SHOULD (if I didn't miss one) have a designated link for submitting your info. As for the bios, right now other than about 3 which came in today, the site is up to date on what we have. If it is not listed, nobody that I know of is working on it, with the exception of those brief bios from the 1877 History Of Henry County Taxpayers and Voters. It would be nearly impossible for me to keep track of everyone sending messages saying "I am going to transcribe Mr. Smiths bio". However, if you are going to do a whole BLOCK of bios (such as "I am transcribing all the bios from p. 100-150 of XYZ book"), that I would like notification on and will note on the biography intro page that they are in transcription and will be coming shortly, to keep others from duplicating them. I see your photos have arrived so I guess you figured out how to send them (GRIN) As for the resizing, Dee Dee (see above) has offered assistance in that area. If someone just can't get them resized, go ahead and send them but it will take me longer to post them as I will have to resize them first. ----------------------- Hope I have answered some of the questions. I have a previous commitment to another site I sponsor tonight (non-genealogy site for an old Tampa band from the 1970's) to be in a chat session so I won't be able to do any more on the site tonight.
