    1. [ILHENRY-L] Clara S. ALLEN

    3. I am also researching ALLENs, but I haven't been able to get very far. My great-grandmother was Clara S. ALLEN, born 1859 in Florid (Putnam County), married to Charles CLARK. They did live in Henry County for some time. Illinois did not register births (to my knowledge) in 1859; I have been able to find no record of their marriage as yet. Clara's death certificate states that her parents were John ALLEN from Germany and Rosa BASHIRE from Florid, IL. However, I found a census entry from 1860 in Hennepin, Putnam County for a Wm H. (NY) and Elmira (PA) ALLEN, who had a girl aged 1/12 named Clara S. ALLEN living with them (although my Clara should have been 1 year old by then). I'm not sure if either piece of information is correct and/or pertains to my Clara. Would any of you ALLEN researchers have any mention of Clara? If so, I'd appreciate any assistance....
