Also, there are only two readers and one isn't very good, so give yourself extra time for that & take lots of change. Janet Miller >> Susie & Janet, I would be interested in investigating some of the records in the Kewanee Library, but as I live in Addison, DuPage Cty, IL, it will be a trek for me to get there, and once I'm there, what records will I be able to view, where is the library and what are the hours. Can someone help me with this information, please and thank you. My mother, Dorothy WISSER MACK was fostered out to the LEMPKE family in Kewanee during the late 30's & early 40's. Her foster parents passed away and her foster sister and husband, Velma & Everett KRAUSE took over raising her until 1943ish. They lived on and worked a farm in Kewanee. I've many fond memories of that farm and Everett & Velma. After my mother passed away, I lost contact with Velma. I have no idea if she is still living or not; she'd be in her 80's or more I suspect. I would dearly love to find out about these families or even better find Velma and spend time with her [Everett has passed away]. Thanks in advance for your input and time.
