Cleveland is a very small village next to the Rock River in northwestern Henry County. It is in the middle of a buyout from the State of Illinois and the Department of Natural Resourses. Many homes there are being sold, then torn down, as they are in the flood zone and FEMA,IEMA, and DNR aren't willing to pay for the fixup of them each year. Many residents are moving to higher ground in the village, while others are leaving entirely. Cleveland, along with Dayton Corners, have cemeteries with settlers of the 1850's buried in them.
