Can someone tell me what newspaper archives I would need to access for obituaries from Henry county about 1875-1890? I am looking for obituaries for Louis Papendick (1879) and his wife Sophia Greenwood Papendick (1889). Thanks, Judy Papendick

I suggest you explore: http://www.library.uiuc.edu/techserv/inp/main.htm Especially look at the link pointed to by the text "INP Newspaper Database / Search the INP Newspaper Database for cataloged newspaper title information." It will help you figure out what (newspaper-wise) can be borrowed from the Illinois State Historical Library via Interlibrary loan. It isn't perfect, but it is a big help. As several others have noted, most of the Henry County newspapers are also available at the Kewanee Public Library (also perhaps the Geneseo library?). But the web page I cited above helps you know what issues are likely to be available on microfilm anywhere. Rollie
