Apparently this wife was deceased (possibly died in childbirth) when he went off to World War I and was killed. Frederick and Rosannah adopted their granddaughter Carmen. Then something went weird and Rosannah had Frederick E. Lyons declared legally insane and he was placed in a mental institution in "Watertown IL"--later records say Moline. Then Rosannah must have fallen ill herself, for she sent Carmen to live with her brother James Henry Martin, an RLDS priest in Lamoni IA. Rosannah then sold off all the family properties in Kewanee, put most of the money in trust for Carman and went to Lamoni herself, where she soon died and is buried. I attempted to obtain the records of the insanity trial for Frederick Lyons but was told they are still sealed and it would take a court order to have them opened. I have been unable to determine what happened to Rosannah and Frederick's other son Harry or whatever became of Carmen Lyons.
